My Background

In December of 1982, my daughter Jamie decided she wanted desperately to own a German Shepherd. His name was Apollo and he was quite an amazing dog. I realized instantly that the German-bred German Shepherd was an intelligent and magnamous animal. For many years, I trained and showed these dogs in the dog sport called Schutzhund, winning Sieger shows in certain categories on my way. It was not until May 2000 that one of my friends introduced me to this affectionate and loveable (and much easier to handle) breed.

It was an easy transition to begin improving the Mini Schnauzer line as these dogs are just as keen and even more loveable than the German Shepherd. I purchased my first Schnauzers from Bonnie Warrell, an AKC Judge in California who has developed the Belgar line.  I love the Belgar line after personally meeting "Jessie", Bonnie's working champion.
